    Thanks for the extra drive to get out there next year and find them !!! Any help with tree association would be great

    I live on the eastern side of Texas only about 1.5 hrs form the LA border. Tyler Texas area. Start looking in mid February. Rule of thumb is when temp stay in the low 40's at night and get into the 60's during the day. I have found the greys in mid Feb and all through April. Once temps get into mid to upper 70's its done. Looks for elms and ash trees early. Oaks and cedars late season. This is just my observation for our area. You guys have the same tree types anyway. With our crappy winter I have already started to look.
