Me too. Just finished up sugaring for the year so I can move on to something else. Too bad spring is at least 4 weeks off here. But on the other hand I'd rather have a cold March that melts into a warm April rather than a hot March followed by a cold April We all know how that turns out.
^^^^^^^^ THIS!! I remember a few years back when we had temps in the low to mid 80's for the first week of March. It got cold again, and the weather seemed to return to somewhat normal, but that was the worst morel season I've ever had! I only found one little, dried up crispy critter in any of my spots.

@shroomsearcher will you be traveling south to hunt early..or gonna just wait for them to come to You?
I usually wait for them to come to me. However, I'll be busy this year because I have a list of new places to scout out in my search for my first local black morel. Tomorrow I'll be taking a drive to see if a big grove of beech trees that I used to know is still there. I've been given to understand that you can sometimes find blacks in beech groves. Tulip poplars seem to be something of a rarity around here. I find one here, a couple there, but no real stands of them, so I'll be keeping an eye out for those as well. I haven't been to that area in quite some time.
