Looked around my spots today. No good signs yet here in Danielsville GA other than privet budding. Waiting for the chick weed to give some cover. Morning temps too cold lately.
Put my eyes on 288 morels this morning. Next week should be a good harvest to start off. Looks like this is going to be a pretty good year for morels as I still have other spots that haven’t popped yet.

Id say that everything is early this year. Usually the pop migrates across my property, this year it seems like everything is popped at the same time, at least 80% of my areas have some activity.
Some updates from today. Going to have a decent harvest tomorrow. Been eating fresh ones every day this week. Not happy to see freezing temps in the next weeks forecast.
I assume you are finding them near the creek. I'm curious as to what is the max distance from the creek bank you are finding them and how close to the banks you are finding them? Thanks for the great reporting!
Back from India last night and found these beauties this morning. Nothing beats morels for breakfast. Georgia folks: get out there and get hunting. Just cause it’s been cold doesn’t mean you won’t find any, the only guarantee is if you don’t look.
Had a work trip. I’m a mechanic/supervisor at a textile factory in Georgia and my company sent us to visit their factories over there. Was definitely an experience.
